Recently, the Longcheng District “5G+Industrial Internet” Demonstration Application Symposium, hosted by the Longcheng District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and organized by China Telecom Chaoyang Branch, was successfully held in the High-Tech Industrial Park.

Wang Qiang, a senior business expert at China Telecom Corporation, delivered a keynote address on 5G plus the industrial internet; Yang Hongtao, Deputy General Manager of the Northeast Region at Beijing Yacong Control Systems Co., Ltd., presented on integrated industrial control and management platforms as a catalyst for the upgrading and transformation of the manufacturing sector; Zhou You, another senior business expert at China Telecom Corporation, spoke about enterprise cloud migration; Gao Fei, a senior product expert at the China Telecom Research Institute, discussed how 5G plus AI is advancing the intelligent transformation of the pharmaceutical industry; and Gao Li, Product Manager for Carrier Networks at Huawei, addressed 5G plus Huawei’s smart factory solutions. During the event, the experts provided detailed responses to on-site consultations from enterprises such as Yanshanhu Power Plant, Chaohua Pharmaceutical, Chaoyang Iron & Steel, and Hongda Machinery.

“5G plus the Industrial Internet” is an inevitable trend in the Industry 4.0 revolution. With the rapid advancement of the information age, it has become a cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and a key direction for the evolution and upgrading of information technology in the new era. Since March 2020, when the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Notice on Accelerating the Development of 5G,” local governments across the country have been intensifying the promotion and application of “5G plus the Industrial Internet.” Not only are major enterprises such as Huawei and BMW Brilliance conducting pilot demonstrations in this field, but Longcheng District’s Langma Tire is also undertaking intelligent transformation to build “Digital Langma.” At the same time, “5G plus the Industrial Internet” is an essential requirement for successfully implementing the three major initiatives on structural adjustment. Since Secretary Zhang Guoqing was transferred to Liaoning last October, he immediately emphasized that Liaoning must excel in these three critical areas of structural adjustment, with the most important being the use of next-generation information technologies to empower and enhance the efficiency of time-honored brands, thereby achieving digital, intelligent, and green development for these established enterprises. Longcheng currently hosts 436 industrial enterprises, among which more than 200 are well-established firms in manufacturing, power, energy, food, and other sectors—most of them operating with outdated equipment and producing legacy products, thus facing the constant risk of being phased out by the market. Consequently, leveraging “5G plus the Industrial Internet” to drive the transformation and upgrading of these older enterprises has become imperative. Moreover, “5G plus the Industrial Internet” is an indispensable choice for ensuring the long-term viability and competitive edge of enterprises. In today’s rapidly evolving society, with products constantly being updated and replaced, companies that fail to upgrade their technologies and refresh their product lines will inevitably lose market share and competitiveness, ultimately leading to decline and closure. Therefore, only by staying one step ahead, acting swiftly, and taking the lead in promoting and applying “5G plus the Industrial Internet” can enterprises secure their position and remain invincible.

Ge Qingfeng, General Manager of China Telecom Chaoyang Branch; Liu Jian, General Manager of the Key Enterprise Customer Service Center of Liaoning Telecom; Zhang Dahai, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Chaoyang Branch; Ren Huijie, Director of the Government and Enterprise Department of China Telecom Chaoyang Branch; Cai Wei, General Manager of the Urban District Branch of China Telecom Chaoyang; Wang Qiang and Zhou You, Senior Business Experts at China Telecom Group; Gao Fei, Senior Product Expert at the China Telecom Research Institute; Yang Hongtao, Deputy General Manager of the Northeast Regional Division of Beijing Yacong; and Gao Li, Product Manager for Carrier Networks at Huawei—along with other operators and experts—attended this seminar. Representatives from 15 leading enterprises in Longcheng District across industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, electronics, food, and energy also took part in the meeting.

The convening of this seminar fully demonstrates the Longcheng District Party Committee and District Government’s strong confidence and unwavering commitment to vigorously advancing the “5G + Industrial Internet” initiative among enterprises. It also represents a robust measure for Longcheng District to seize the opportunities presented by the times and accelerate industrial development, and will serve as a powerful model and catalyst for elevating the level of intelligent and digital transformation across Longcheng’s industrial sector.
