Traditional Chinese Medicine Used in 100% of COVID-19 Cases in Dalian

On July 28, Zhao Lian, Deputy Director of the Dalian Municipal Health Commission, stated at a press conference that Dalian conducts case-by-case analysis and assessment for each confirmed case, adjusting treatment plans on a daily basis to shorten the duration of illness. At the same time, the city has adopted an integrated approach combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine, with TCM experts participating in daily multidisciplinary consultations and ensuring 100% utilization of TCM therapies.
From 0:00 to 24:00 on July 27, Dalian reported 6 new locally transmitted confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12 new asymptomatic infections. To date, the city has a cumulative total of 44 confirmed cases, with 38 additional asymptomatic infections currently under medical observation.
In light of the severe local epidemic prevention and control situation and in order to effectively reduce the risk of virus transmission, the Dalian authorities announced on the 26th of this month that free nucleic acid testing would be conducted across the entire city.
According to Zhao Lian, Dalian has so far deployed a total of 8,107 medical personnel and established 2,096 sampling stations. As of midnight on July 27, a cumulative total of 2.96 million samples had been collected, with 11 nucleic acid testing laboratories mobilized to operate at full capacity, ensuring the swift completion of the screening effort.
At present, Dalian has dispatched 57 medical staff from various tertiary hospitals to the Sixth People’s Hospital of Dalian, where all necessary preparations for fully vacating the facility have been completed, ensuring that the hospital is now fully equipped to admit and treat COVID-19 patients.
