【Source】The dried roots and rhizomes of plants belonging to the family Ranunculaceae, namely Clematis chinensis, Clematis hexapetala, or Clematis mandshurica.
[Note] 1. Skin wrinkles: The surface of the root of Weilingxian is dark brown to black and exhibits longitudinal wrinkles.
2. Heartwood: The cross-section reveals a yellow, small heartwood that is slightly square in shape, accounting for approximately one-third of the root’s diameter.
