2. No flowers: The flowers of Schizonepeta are called “Jingjie Sui,” which command a higher price than the herb itself; they are harvested separately for medicinal use, which is why there are no flowers in the Schizonepeta herb.
3. Presence of leaves: The leaves of Schizonepeta are naturally small and often appear as a fine powder in the processed herbal slices, settling at the bottom beneath the stem slices.
