From 00:00 to 24:00 on July 22, Liaoning Province reported one new locally transmitted confirmed case of COVID-19, which was reported in Dalian City and classified as a mild case. In addition, one imported confirmed case was cured and discharged from hospital.
On the 23rd, Dalian City identified two additional confirmed cases and 12 asymptomatic infections during epidemiological investigations and tracing of close contacts of the confirmed case reported on the 22nd.
The newly confirmed case is Shi, a 58-year-old male currently residing in Xigang District, Dalian City. On July 21, he presented to a designated medical institution in Dalian with a three-day history of fever and diarrhea. On July 22, his COVID-19 nucleic acid test result was positive; based on his clinical symptoms, he was subsequently diagnosed by a provincial expert panel as a confirmed case of mild COVID-19. At present, the patient’s condition is stable, and he has been transferred to the Dalian Center of the Provincial Centralized Treatment Center for COVID-19 for isolated treatment.
The patient’s travel history over the 3 days prior to onset is as follows:
Every day, I leave home at 6:30 a.m., take Metro Line 3 from Xianglujiao Station to Dalianwan Station, walk to work, and return home the same way after finishing work at 5:00 p.m. I wear a mask throughout the entire journey and do not eat out.
Reported for work on July 13. Left home at 6:30 a.m. and returned home via the same route around 5:00 p.m. after finishing work.
Did not report to work on July 14. Left home at around 12:30 p.m., took Bus Route 7 from Jinhai Garden Station to Yinghua Street Station, and at about 1:00 p.m. boarded a taxi to the Harbor Hospital for a health checkup, wearing a mask throughout the entire journey.
Work from July 15 to 17. The schedule and route are the same as on the 13th.
Report for work on the morning of July 18 (7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). After returning home for lunch, went to the Maiweiduo Chess and Card Room for leisure. Around 4:00 p.m., visited the Baoquan Bathhouse near my home for about 20 minutes before leaving, then returned to the Maiweiduo Chess and Card Room for more entertainment.
Did not work on July 19. Around noon, went to the Maiweiduo Chess and Card Room for about an hour of entertainment.
Did not report to work on July 20. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., engaged in recreational activities at the Maiweiduo Chess and Card Room.
Did not go to work on July 21. Around 9:00 a.m., went to Xiaofei Hair Salon in Workers’ Village for a haircut, then headed to Maiweiduo Chess and Card Room for leisure. Returned home at approximately 12:40 p.m., and around 5:00 p.m. took a taxi to the Fever Clinic at Dalian Central Hospital for medical consultation, wearing a mask throughout the entire visit.
